The light shone through my window, saying it was the start of a new day. Not just any day, it was my birthday.
I woke up at 6 o’clock excited for what plans lay ahead. Hopped out of bed and got ready then rushed upstairs for presents! Alex spent so long the night before setting up a treasure hunt for my gifts, and I am so grateful and lucky to have someone who would do that for me. I asked for the most difficult clues and she sure delivered, it wasn’t only hard, it was also troublesome. Some clues didn’t even make a touch of sense! Finally i had finished and collected all my birthday presents. I was beyond happy once all the presents were opened and gave everybody a huge hug of appreciation.
Breakfast followed unwrapping all the gifts and it was a fantastic one. We got chocolate croissants, one of my favourite breakfast’s ever! It tasted like heaven, a mix of melted chocolate and flakey pastry!
Afterwards, my friends came over and we swam in one of the most gorgeous places ever, The Bay of Islands. Spectacular landscaping from the rocks sticking out of the ocean to the aqua blue, crystal clear waters. It is such a privilege that i could spend my 13th birthday in such a gorgeous and not rarely visited place.
For dinner we had a big chunk of steak, ashy potatoes and some delicious salads. All the boats participated in making this scrumptious meal and i am so thankful for all of them. After the fabulous dinner that we all had together it was cake time! We had several cakes, and all of them looked delightful and delectable! After singing happy birthday, we feasted on the tasty cakes. All the kids then watched a movie on the trampolines and it was amazing!
I feel so much older and want to grow and achieve more wonderful things this year. I am so grateful for celebrating my 13th birthday with such wonderful and kind people and am so excited for everything before me.
