Wizard Of Oz Book Report

The audiobook that I listened to while we were sailing on the bumpy sea is called Wizard Of Oz. The writer of this book is L. Frank Baum. The wizard of oz is about a little girl named Dorothy who got brought by a storm to a weird land called the Land of Oz. The house that she was in in the storm squished the wicked witch of the east and all the munchkins were so happy because the wicked witch made them slaves. Afterwards, she started her journey to the emerald city where oz lives so that oz could bring her back to Kansas where she lives. During her journey, she met a few friends who came with her on her journey so that they can get things that they don’t have. The scarecrow wanted a brain so that he was smart, the tin man wanted a heart so that he could love again and the lion wanted courage so that he wasn’t scared of other things. They went on the yellow brick road that brought them to the emerald city. The path was very hard but at last, they made it.  They asked oz to give them what they wanted but he said he would only do that if they killed the wicked witch of the west. They went and killed the wicked witch of the west and went back to the emerald city to claim their lovely rewards. When they arrived they found out that ‘’oz’’ was actually a human that came to the land of oz by a hot air balloon and he ruled over everybody with everyone thinking that he was powerful when he was actually a normal person like Dorothy. They didn’t get their reward so they had to start a journey to a very powerful princess where Dorothy was able to get back to Kansas, her home. My favourite character is Dorothy because she is very clever and she is the main character. Some lessons that I learnt is people aren’t always what they seem and determination leads to success. I would recommend this book to others who love fantasy and happy endings.
